What's Your Back-to-School Skincare Regimen? Teen Edition

We asked one of our SCL Teens to share their tried-and-true SCL routine...Read along for the pro tips they learned from their providers at Skin CoLAB!
Q: Mornings can be rushed, but your skin still deserves some love. What is your morning skincare routine?
A: I like to use the SCL Papaya BHA cleanser with Clean Skin Club Towels. The cleanser is super easy. I keep my cleanser in the shower and then wipe my face with the clean skin club towel when I am done. I finish with the SCL No Filter Daily moisturizer and Alastin Hydratint SPF for the perfect glow!
Q: School days can be long, and sometimes your skin might need a quick pick-me-up. Do you carry any skincare products in your backpack?
A: I always have a lip balm and a facial mist for those times when my skin feels dry or tired. The spray you [SCL] sell has anti-bacterial properties, which is good after I have gym or volleyball at school. Plus, it makes my skin look dewy :)
Q: After a day full of school, homework, and activities, it's essential to take care of your skin before bed. What does your nighttime routine look like? Do you double cleanse, use a specific serum, or have a favorite mask that helps your skin recover overnight?
A: I can’t go to bed without double cleansing with my oil [SCL Pre-Cleansing Oil] and my Papaya cleanser. If I’m breaking out, I use the Kaolin Mint Mask to help. But that’s mostly it, and of course, my No Filter Moisturizer from Skin CoLAB!
Q: We all have those skincare struggles... breakouts, oily skin, or dryness. What challenges are you facing with your skin as you head back to school? Have you found any products or tips that help?
A: I sometimes get breakouts around my forehead and chin, especially when I’m stressed. Salicylic acid has been a lifesaver for me! I like to use the SCL No Filter Pads to help! I also did the Acne Laser series this summer and it helped my acne calm down.
Q: Do you have any advice or tips for other teens who are looking to step up their skincare game this school year? Maybe a product recommendation, a hack that works for you, or just some encouragement to stay consistent?
A: Don’t skip moisturizer, even if you have oily skin. Finding the right one can make a huge difference! And the mint mask, it is truly a lifesaver! I spot treat with it at night if I have a major breakout. And I’d say, even if you are tired at night, at least wash your face and use moisturizer, your skin will thank you!
